Have fun but keep the following in mind. Please use the marked areas only for spectating and ALWAYS follow the instructions of the organizers and marshals in the area. Marshals and other officials will have vests, name tags, and other documentation with them.  This is for your safety and the safety of others around you. The entire rally can be stopped if any situation is deemed unsafe by a marshal or an official (and this has happened in the past). Remember to dress for the weather and be courteous - leave a spectating spot cleaner than when you arrived. The stage is "hot" - an active stage from the time you see the 0 car until you see the sweep vehicles come through the stage - flashing yellow lights and the last will have a flashing green light. End of lecture....enjoy the rally!

FYI for Spectators -
There will be a concession stand at Spectator location A (Eberly/Hunt Creek) on Friday and E (Huff/Camp 8) on Saturday. The concession stand will be staffed by the Coney Island of Gaylord.

The Sno*Drift Super Special will take place January 28, 2012 at Lewiston Sand & Gravel. The first running will be at 2:04 PM and the 2nd running will begin at 3:22 PM. There will be a $5.00 entry fee for all spectators (children under 12 are free). The entry fee includes free bus transportation from either Lewiston or Atlanta. The best viewing is a few steps from the bus drop off point. There will be a warming tent and food concession stand available for spectators.

• Parking at the Super Special is $10.00 per vehicle, plus $5.00 per person admission.

• The bus is $5.00 per person and includes the admission fee along with a FREE round trip bus ride.

• Buses leave from the Atlanta School and the Lewiston Ace Hardware, starting around Noon, and run continuously from noon until the last passenger is returned to their starting location.

• If you choose to park on The Super Special Grounds, you must enter Buttles Rd. from M32. Use the following routes:

  –From Atlanta, take M32 West, about 11 mi. Turn Left onto Buttles Rd.

  –From Lewiston Head North on Co. Rd. 491 about 5.8 mi. Turn Left on M32 for about 1.8 Mi. Turn Left onto Buttles Rd.)

The following Ham Radio Frequency will be utilized by the Organizing Committee for Voice Communications during the 2012 Sno*Drift Rally. Both of these are found on the 2 meter band.

146.76 MHz will be the Primary Repeater for Stages 1 thru 12 on Friday and Stages 23 & 24 on Saturday.

147.12 MHz will be the Primary Repeater for Stages 13 thru 22 on Saturday.

Ham Radio operators involved with the 2012 event will be receiving detailed information soon.

This year, Sno*Drift will also incorporate Ham Radio APRS (automatic packet reporting system) operations as an adjunct to voice communications to assist officials at net control to keep a situational awareness of the event. In addition to workers with APRS mobiles units, APRS Trackers will be installed in selected Safety Vehicles and we will utilize information from competitors that have APRS Radios. The vehicle locations will be able to be monitored as they circulate thru the rally course on mapping screens. Any interested parties that wish to monitor the APRS traffic and do not have APRS equipment should be able to do so by either various APRS smartphone applications ( if they are a licensed ham) or on their phone's web browser or portable computer with 3G capabilities. Additional APRS information and demonstration of viewing capabilities will be available at competitor and worker registration.
