Rally Updates 2007
Welcome to the 2007 Sno*Drift Rally!
6:57pm Net Control and our gracious typist Elaine are heading to Hillman in a few minutes. Most of the cars have completed stage 17 and final scores will be posted at www.rally-america.com as soon as possible.
6:40pm All cars, 41, have finished Stage 16
6:26pm Car #199 has completed Stage 17 the final stage and 2007 Sno* Drift Rally. He will be heading for the awards ceremony and pizza party for the volunteers.
6:20pm Car #199 has started Stage 17
6:20pm Stage 16 was stopped for a few minutes. Drivers were told to look for any snowmobilers and throw the red cross if they feel it is unsafe to continue.
6:13pm Stage 16 is having problems with snowmobilers
5:59pm We are in the final loop of the last 3 three stages. 41 cars have started and finished Stage 15. Car #199 has started and finished Stage 16 and will start Stage 17, the last stage, at 6:20.
3:04pm The organizers are thankful that a smart decision was made, safety is our number one priority. Although competitors and organizers will be disappointed not to have the scores from the 25 mile stage, the best decisions were made.
3:00pm Just after we were finished watching all the cars on stage 12, Travis Pastrana and Christian were running stage 13. Travis and Christian came upon a few snowmobilers and smartly decided the stage may not be safe to run. The crew of 199 threw the red cross and the stage is being transited.
2:59pm Again today the RallyMaster and note writer were out in the woods for just a bit.
11:55am 41 cars have finished Stage 11
11:54am Car #811's engine is dragging on the ground. They will need to be towed out of the stage.
11:52am There is a correction, #811 is not back on the road. They were pulled to an access road.
11:43am Car #811 is reported back on the road in Stage 11
11:33am Cars are currently at the service area. Stage 12 starts at 1:36pm
11:22am 43 cars have completed Stage 10
11:18am Car #590 is reported out on Stage 10
11:12am Car #811 is potentially blocking mile 3.15 in Stage 11.
11:03am The occupants of car #64 are both out of the car and are OK. The accident actually occurred 1 mile into the stage.
10:57am Car #64 is reported on its roof 1/2 mile into Stage 11, everyone is reported OK
10:40am Car #199 has completed Stage 11
10:36am 44 cars have completed Stage 9

10:17am A large herd of Elk has been reported on Stage 10. Drivers have been warned to take caution.
10:15am A sweep car is going to pull out car #96 out of Stage 8

10:03am Stage 10 has not started yet. It is running behind
9:51am There is now only 1 car, #96, stuck in the middle of Stage 8
9:48am Car #491 is having trouble getting started at the first main time control and has not been able to leave the service area
9:44am Car #199 finished Stage 9
9:44am There are now two cars off in the middle of Stage 8, both OK, updates to follow

9:35am #624 and #27 are working on their cars at start of Stage 8

9:42pm Car 319 had a few mechanical problems on the last stage, but is headed to the final MTC to finish the night.
9:40 pm Car 622 has had a problem between the final stage and the final MTC, they are slowly making their way to Lewiston were they will be able to make further repairs.
9:38 pm Stage 7 has been cleaned up and the workers are all headed into warmer climates for the evening.
9:36pm We have had 47 cars finish the last stage, Stage 7 The Ranch.
9:35pm Car 774 was damaged heavily, the right hand door will not close, the team is reported OK.
9:31pm Car 770 retired after stage 4 with mechanical trouble. We are still searching for their Service Crew, several people have walked and driven through the Lewiston streets looking for the crew, but no-one can seem to find them. The Driver and Co-Driver are here in Atlanta and will be at the A Win Sands Hotel shortly. We hope to reconnect team and crew soon.
9:26pm While we were out we talked to Travis Pastrana, who unfortunately had a problem with his lights. After attempting repairs we saw Travis drive into the stage 4 start control with his hood plastered against the windshield. Travis & Christian ran stages 4 through 7 without their "big" night driving lights.
9:22pm Sorry for not having updates in the last few hours, for the first time in many years the RallyMaster was able to leave net control and see the cars run a few stages (and the RallyMaster took the typist - Elaine with him...)
5:10pm 48 cars finished Stage 3
5:08pm Scoring will be delayed while we verify some logs
4:50pm Car #567 (73 Porsche) dropped out between Stage 2 and Stage 3 with mechanical problems
4:24pm 49 cars down from the original 50 have finished stage 2
4:15pm Med sweep was not able to pull #690 out. Heavy sweep will be attempting to pull them out. #690 is finished for today.
4:10pm Med sweep is going to try to get car #690 out of the woods on Stage 2. They are off again and are okay
3:56pm Car #11 has finished stage 3
3:51pm Car #744 was reported off and now back on finishing Stage 2
3:47pm Car #11 has started stage 3
3:41pm Car #690 freed itself and finished Stage 1. We think it will continue on.
3:19pm Car #690 has been confirmed off at mile 2.87 at a very tricky narrow bridge on Stage 1. All are confirmed okay!
3:14pm Car #11 has finished Stage 2
3:14pm Car #690 Kenny Bartram is reported off on Stage 1 and is okay. Will update if we have further news
3:05pm Car #11 has started Stage 2
2:52pm Car #11 has finished Stage 1

2:41pm First car #11 has arrived at Stage 1 and will be starting at 2:44pm
2:31pm The first car has left Lewiston heading for Stage 1
2:10pm Course opening cars are on Stage 1 and Stage 2 and all things are going smoothly.
Roads are frozen with continuous snow falling. We expect six inches of fresh snow by the end of the evening.
